On Sunday, December 16, the Northern Virginia Filipino community gathered at St. James for a Mass and celebration as part of Simbang Gabi. The observance, a vigil of nine masses in the days leading up to Christmas Day, began in 1669 in the Philippine Islands and continues to today. After the Mass, a social was held in Heller Hall. The event featured delicious food and warm fellowship.
