Reverend Ghenghan Mbinkar

When Fr. Ghengan joined us in August 2014, we shared his story with parishioners:

Continuing our relationship with the Diocese of Kumbo in the African nation of Cameroon, we are pleased to welcome Fr. Ghenghan Bamenjo Mbinkar (pronounced ghen-ghan ba-men-jo mbin-kar— the m is almost silent). Originally from the town of Jakiri, Fr. Ghenghan is one of four children. He is the second child, but the oldest boy; all his family remain in Cameroon.

From a very young age, he had a feel for a vocational calling and entered the minor seminary before matriculating to the major seminary and parish work. Ordained just two years ago, Fr. Ghenghan spent time working in his diocesan tribunal office before starting his assignment at Catholic University where he will first work on his licentiate in canon law, with the hopes of continuing on to his doctorate.

As this is Fr. Ghenghan’s first trip outside his home country, let us give him a warm St. James welcome. We are blessed to have another priest travel with us on our spiritual journey.
