Epiphany Reflection

Epiphany Reflection

Readings: Isaiah 60:16; Psalm 72:1-2, 7-8, 10-11, 12-13; Ephesians 3:2, 5-6; Matthew 2:2-12

In this week’s video, Jim Beckman offers some context to the journey of the Magi and Herod’s fearful response to the news they carried. Since Herod himself was not a Jew, he was afraid that Jesus would take his place. The magi, on the other hand, responded with faith to the signs and prophesies they saw and made an offering of their most valuable gifts to the child Jesus. Similarly, at Mass we listen to the Word of God and respond by offering ourselves to Jesus, now present in the Eucharist.

Reflection Question: How can you offer Jesus the gift of yourself in your daily life?
