In response to the Missionary Cooperative Plan of the Diocese of Arlington of The Society of the Propagation of the Faith, this year’s Mission Appeal at our parish will be collected during all of our Masses on the weekend of July 15-16, 2017. As part of the Missionary Cooperative Plan of the Diocese of Arlington, our parish collection will go to serve the needs of the South American mission schools and activities conducted by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
In addition to the private schools in Peru, the “IHM” Community operates several schools in Peru to serve the poorest of the poor. It is wonderful that the proceeds from the Mission Appeal at this parish will help this community which is so established in our own diocese to continue to help the very poor whom they serve in their South American Missions. Sister Patricia Helene Earl, IHM, former Assistant Superintendent of Schools for the Arlington Diocese for 13 years will speak to you about this Mission Appeal and how it will benefit the lives and education of our South American brothers and sisters.
Thank you for your generosity which will benefit so many children and their families. Any donations by check should be made payable to “St. James Parish” and then these will be forwarded in the name of the parish to the Propagation of the Faith.
