St. James Respects Life

To receive e-mail updates on pro-life activities in and around St. James parish, please send an email.

Our pro-life ministry conducts fundraisers to support pro-life causes, including a yearly Christmas greens sale to support the local crisis pregnancy center (A Woman's Choice), prays in front of the two abortion facilities in our parish, and organizes the March for Life bus trip, Life Chain, and the 40 Days for Life campaign. The ministry sometimes organizes rosary processions from St. James to one of the local abortion facilities.

We Help Through Prayer

Happening Now

There are ongoing opportunities for prayer and sidewalk counseling each weekday morning (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM) at the Falls Church Health Center, 900 South Washington Street. St. James parish covers Wednesdays, but come any day that is convenient for you. Please consider spending an hour in prayer. Short on time? Drop by for any amount of time you can.

On September 25 at 7:00pm we will kick-off the upcoming "40 Days for Life" campaign with a candlelight vigil in front of the Falls Church Health Center, 900 South Washington St.

Coming Soon

The fall 40 Days for Life campaign will take place September 26 - November 4, 2018. For 40 days and nights, people of faith and conscience will stand in constant, peaceful vigil outside hundreds of abortion facilities to the single most important thing we can do: PRAY! During the Lent 2018 campaign, 645 lives were saved from abortion, seven abortion workers quit their jobs, and six facilities closed.

Every Week

NOVA for Life is encouraging everyone to participate in a resolution to spend an hour in adoration and pray the rosary in silence before the Blessed Sacrament in intercessory prayer for an end to abortion, for the protection of the lives of the unborn and for the conversion of all those involved especially within our Diocese.

Every Month

First Saturday Rosary at 10:30 AM at the Falls Church abortion facility: 900 S. Washington Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. The rosary will be prayed each first Saturday through September.

There is a Holy Hour the second Tuesday of every month 7:30-8:30 PM to pray for the healing of our culture and for those who hold the secret sorrow of abortion deep within their hearts – that grace will break through. The next Holy Hour is August 14 at St. Mary of Sorrows (Fairfax Station Road and Route 123, Fairfax, VA 22039) and will be followed by a barbecue.

Third Saturday Rosary at 9:00 AMat Landmark Towers, the busiest abortion center in the diocese: 101 S Whiting Street, Alexandria, VA 22304. The rosary follows 8:00 AM Mass at Queen of Apostles, 4401 Sano St, Alexandria, VA 22304.
